The forum software will be upgraded this coming weekend, which means that it will be unavailable from the evening of Friday 1/5 until Monday morning. Hopefully, it will be done before then, though.

All posts, personal instant messages, user accounts, etc. will be migrated so you shouldn't lose anything. But there are a few things to be aware of:

1) All users that have never posted will be dropped. So if you've never posted but want to keep your account, post something before Friday afternoon. You can simply respond to this post if you want. If you do get dropped, you can always create a new account.

2) The URL to the forums will change. The main WHLC website (www.wonhoploongchuan.com) will be updated to reflect this, so you can just go through there to get to the new forums. The old one should forward you to the new one temporarily as well.

The upgrade is in the interest of security and to prevent spammers from getting on the board. It will also add a new user interface and some new features.

Well, the upgrade was very smooth and went a lot faster than I expected. If anyone has any problems or questions on how to use the new boards, please feel free to ask.

By the way, I also updated our Austin club website to have a matching look and feel to the forums. It's at www.hiddendragon.com. Hopefully soon, I can find time to revamp the main WHLC site, too.

One thing that everyone might have to do is "reset" which posts have been read. For some people, it shows some of the boards as having new posts when they really do not. To reset it, from the main page of the forum scroll to the bottom, and under the last board on the right side is a button that says "Mark As Read". Click that button to mark everything as read. Note that this will mark everything as read, even if you haven't actually read it so don't do this until you're caught up. thumbsup

Took a look at the Austin site too.

It took me a bit to get this part figured out, but I just clicked on the Austin Dojo link and saw it.

Wow, that does look nice.

Very sweet!

I especially like that the times of classes are listed there in an easy to read format.
